Snackfood central of Walkers brandsBeautiful sunny day for a trip up to Skelmersdale to drop in and visit a former Predictive Maintenance colleague at the site.
Spent a very enjoyable couple of hours sharing ideas and methods to drive Reliability in Food Manufacturing processes. Really good to hear how the Skem' site has developed over the past few years. Some great work and further challenges, hopefully I gave Norman a few ideas! Excellent site and the usual PepsiCo welcome.

Here's Uptime Consultant's positionGDPR has stirred quite a lot of last minute emailing and I must admit it has been cathartic to unsubscribe from so many databases and lists I didn't know I was part of!
Fortunately Uptime Consultant Ltd has never taken part in unsolicited email or calling activities. All of my contacts are purely business to business and are all down to prospects and clients contacting Uptime Consultant Ltd directly. I hold no personal data about any of the trainees or clients in any databases. This website is hosted with the highest levels of security and the cookie policies have been updated by the site provider recently. Today is GDPR Day but it will be an ongoing process, I will constantly review and update security levels as they become apparent. If you have any concerns contact me directly at [email protected] Thanks, Andy I always say to new clients, start with getting your Lubrication practices right can save a lot of heartache. Was great to be back at PepsiCo Global R&D to work with an old colleague from the lubrication industry improving the Lubrication Strategy for this important Pilot Plant. Thanks to Russ Brown from Interflon UK for drafting the schematics and handling the supply of the specialised lubricants to enhance these assets. This work will remove many man hours of intrusive Planned Maintenance and lengthen the cycle between replenishment or negate changes all together. Can't share any of the details here due to the sensitive nature of the operation but if you are thinking about addressing your Lubrication program get in touch directly. The variety as a consultant is what makes the job so rewarding.
Only a couple of days ago I was talking about food manufacturing equipment and by the end of the week I'm in Poole Harbour helping with the challenges of building a reliability program for trimaran ferries! Extremely interesting for me as I am used to assets that are bolted down, all assets share the same fundamentals just different environments impact their reliability. Looking forward to working with the team in the future at Condor Ferries. Introduction to PdM & CBM CourseThis was like going back to my roots training back at Pepsico R&D!
It's nearly three years since I left the PepsiCo business (after 21yrs!) to set up Uptime Consultant Ltd and it felt like I had never been away. This is due to the PepsiCo welcome and the attendees enthusiasm to learn some new techniques. I can't share much about the visit really as it's all under wraps, but I can say that I had a great day catching up with old colleagues and meeting some new ones who took part in the days training. This includes an introduction to proactive and predictive maintenance, why we would want to do it in the first place, strategy, planning, return on investment, sustainability, application as well as covering the basics of Uptime Consultant's Top 5 PdM technologies. We then spent some time out on plant demonstrating the application and limitations of three of those technologies. It's a lot to cover and take in but they all past their multi choice test and were awarded an Uptime Consultant Ltd certificate of achievement. |
