UPTIME Consultant's Substack
6th April 2023 we launched our Substack account to share some different content
I've been pondering this for a while, I used to publish many articles on LinkedIn but unfortunately the algorithm over there doesn't favour that type of content, it got so bad I stopped writing articles.
Substack looks like the type of platform where I can build a community of like minded people, not just engineers either.
I will be posting my thoughts, stories I find interesting about engineering along with some other content that may broaden the conversation, if you want to support this please click the link and subscribe for free weekly blogs & articles.
You can find "The UPTIME View" here: https://uptimeconsultant.substack.com

Myth Busting RCM, PdM, AI & ML
Webinar as an invited guest speaker of UPTIME AI (no relation BTW)
Writing this in mid February so still six weeks away but still looking forward to it.
One of the things I love to talk about and consider is the development of automating Condition Monitoring to make 100s or 1,000s of points of interest more accessible to engineers.
The "UPTIME AI" is just a coincidence, we have no connections other than name.
I always keep myself independent and agnostic when it comes to working or collaborating with third parties.

Great to chat to Senseye about Prediction
It was great to catch up with Niall Sullivan the VP of Marketing at Senseye - A Siemens Business a few weeks back in November 2022.
His questions are always thoughtful, we talked about a lot of aspects along the way, so many that the podcast is being released in three parts!
Here's Part One... I get a little over enthusiastic so please forgive my presentation style.

UpKeep with Ryan Chan CEO
Working in Food & Beverage Interview
3rd September 2021
Great to catch up with Ryan Chan CEO of UpKeep and the instigator of The Maintenance Community by UpKeep.
I'm a big fan of all the things Ryan and his team are doing at UpKeep CMMS so it was a no brainer when they reached out again for another interview.
These build up a body of knowledge on The Maintenance Community which is open to all with an interest in Maintenance via a Slack group.

The Maintenance Investment Conundrum
The Lubrication & Reliability Virtual Summit 2021 on September 14 & 15th was a very well ran and executed event, considering the amount of presenters and time zones it was smooth with barely any glitches.
If you missed it never fear.. here is the recording of my presentation looking at the thorny subject of how much is enough to invest in maintenance.

Podcast with Rikin from Source Talent
I must admit this was one of the most relaxed and enjoyable podcasts I've been involved with, credit also to Rikin Suchak for editing the content down and getting the best audio ever from an interview.

Senseye & UPTIME Consultant Webinar
Prediction and Industry 4.0s Impact on the Shop Floor
This is the fourth time I have partnered with Senseye on one of their Webinars, this time we looked at the impact Industry 4.0 solutions will have on the human side of things, how will it effect the front line engineer?
I had a great hour with host Jonathan Wootten and Condition Monitoring specialist Chris Esprey, we have had some great Condition monitoring chats previously and this was another insightful one about scaling predictive, one of my passions.
You can sign up for the recording of the webinar here:

"Masterminds in Maintenance" with UpKeep
Enjoyed being invited by Ryan Chan CEO & Founder of UpKeep CMMS to talk about my journey in reliability and maintenance.
We covered a lot of ground in just 20 minutes, we looked at how Maintenance should sell itself, what the future may hold (we are currently on Lockdown due to COVID-19) and why UPTIME Consultant exists in the first place!

Senseye & UPTIME Consultant, October 2019
Collaboration, the key to unlocking scalable Predictive Maintenance
This is the third webinar I have guested on and it's an example of the topic we are talking about, collaboration.
I think we all know that the sum is worth more than the parts and this is true in business as well.
It's so important to search out those like minded individuals and then make sure we help each other get to a better place.
As a Condition Monitoring practitioner with over a decade of experience I have a front line knowledge that Senseye can tap in to and explore the possibilities of their solution, helping with the human side of successful deployments.
If you missed this October 2019 webinar you can view it here: https://youtu.be/PAp2R1dHu0k

Senseye & UPTIME Consultant, October 2018
Keeping Production Flowing With Senseye
I have known Senseye and their work in bringing Condition Monitoring into the much talked about Industry 4.0 for over two years.
The refreshing thing about Senseye is they are walking the talk by actually providing a solution that works.
One of the key areas they are looking at is the FMCG and the Food & Beverage sectors.
This is where I spent a large amount of my time with Pepsico International and Walkers Snack Foods establishing and driving a world class Condition Monitoring program as part of their overall Asset Management strategy.
We have a synergy as UPTIME Consultant focusses on maintenance strategy, training front line staff, mentoring and everything to do with predictive technology and reliability, the other part of my business is looking forward and exploring what may or may not work as prognostic solutions in industry.
Senseye are a software company based in Southampton with a talented group of computer scientists, data scientists and condition monitoring experts delivering value by improving industrial asset health and performance.
The FMCG, Food & Beverage industries have masses of untapped digital and analogue information that usually just gets stored, forgotten or ignored!
A recent study estimated that over 85% of all data is never looked at, no one is to blame because the volume is more than any human could possibly handle!
It doesn't have to be this way, with cheap and easy access to Cloud services, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning this information can now be handled in real time to aggregate and leverage insights from all our systems and assets.
If you missed this webinar from October 2018 then send me an email and I will get you a link to the recording.
