Thermography and Thermal Imaging

The visual non contact method of sensing and measuring temperature
Thermography and Thermal Imaging has probably seen the most advances of any CBM technique in the last ten years.

Imagers have become smaller, detectors have jumped in resolution and prices for some devices have plummeted.
This has the upside of putting powerful instruments into the hands of maintainers, the downside is that you can make major mistakes based on a little knowledge.

I know this from experience as I was that self taught Engineer who used an old Fluke Ti20 on assets, fortunately I mainly used it for comparative work and not in electrical cabinets where the big mistakes can cause a lot of heartache.

Training is a key part of becoming a Thermographer as I found out when I took my Level 1 Thermography course, it added another level of understanding that I now share during my "Introduction to CBM" workshops.
If attendees then want to take a recognised course I can point them in the right direction with my contacts in the Thermography.

You can find out more about Thermography below in the webinar.
There are also many other thermography references on our UPTIME Journey YouTube Channel.
